Peruvian food is a mixture of Spanish, indigenous, and African influences, making it a very diverse and rich cuisine. This cuisine was influenced by the European settlers who arrived in Peru during the colonial period. Still, the Inca civilization has also been affected, which came thousands of years ago.

There are two main types of Peruvian food: traditional and modern. The traditional Peruvian cuisine is exceptionally rich in meat, potatoes, bread, and sauces, and the main ingredients are chicken, pork, beef, seafood, vegetables, and legumes. Modern Peruvian cuisine is a lighter version of the traditional one, with a much higher use of vegetables and seafood.

Peruvian food has a strong connection with its colonial history, as it was the first cuisine to be exported to the rest of the world. Therefore, it has been influenced by European and Asian cuisines, reflected in its flavours and ingredients.

The following is a collection of some of the most familiar Peruvian food recipes and make them.
